Whoa. MIT topped the American educational endowment fund charts this year, earning a very cool 23% on its $8.4 billion endowment fund. That $1.9 billion gain is equivalent to a lot of graduate student person hours.

There's also been some talk on campus of a divestiture from MIT's interests in Sudan, given the reports of genocide in the area. Given the debate, it does make you think a little bit about where that $1.9 billion might be coming from.
